1. Is the pricing per word or document? Pricing
is per source document word.
2. What is the charge for special formatting? In
certain situations, there may be special formatting charges when
documents are overly complex, require special handling or coding, or
when specialized fonts and applications are specified. In most cases,
we simply return the documents in text or Microsoft Word file format.
3. Are there volume discounts?
Yes. We would be pleased to discuss such
pricing methodologies once we better understand the nature and
complexity of the specific documents, as well as projected document
flow.
4. Do you use Castilian Spanish?
We generally
use neutral non-dialect Spanish, avoiding regionalisms that tend to
reflect how Spanish is spoken in different areas, noting that how it is
written may not vary to the same extent. This type of document will be
more widely understood by most native Spanish speakers. However, when a
particular audience is being addressed, our familiarity with dialects
from South America through Mexico and the Caribbean can be incorporated
into the finished document. Such language preferences are driven
entirely by the client.
5. What is the normal turn-around time for document
translations?
We typically complete projects in
three (3) days or less. However, cycle times can vary in both
directions depending upon document size and complexity. In any event,
we will provide firm, fixed pricing and delivery once the document set
is known and reviewed.
6. Do you use translation
software?
No. We only use professional
human translators, all of whom are native speakers in the target
language.
7. What process is used to edit
and proof translated documents for accuracy?
Completed translations
are reviewed and proofread by a second translator for quality and
accuracy. While this involves additional cost on our part, we rely on
this important quality assurance step to ensure our process remains
consistent and reliable.
8. Does Avalon sign
confidentiality statements?
Yes. We are happy to execute such agreements prior to project
initiation.
